Why stablecoin supply matters

Stablecoins are the dollars inside crypto. When their total supply expands, new capital is entering the market and there is more liquidity available to buy assets. When supply contracts, capital is leaving and liquidity is draining. Watching the direction of stablecoin supply is one of the cleanest ways to see whether money is flowing into crypto or out of it.

Net mint and burn

Net mint and burn is the change in total supply over the window. A net mint means more stablecoins were created than redeemed, which usually means fresh dollars arriving. A net burn means more were redeemed than created, which usually means dollars leaving. We measure this over 7 days.

The CoinGyaan approach

We read total stablecoin supply and its trend, the net mint or burn over the window, and the dominance split among the largest stablecoins. From the supply direction we form a simple liquidity outlook. The data comes from public on-chain sources and the interpretation is ours.

Frequently asked questions

Does expanding stablecoin supply mean prices go up?

Not directly, but expanding supply adds liquidity that can support prices, while contracting supply removes it. It is context for your own research, not a signal on its own.

What is stablecoin dominance?

The share of total stablecoin supply held by the largest stablecoin, usually Tether. It shows how concentrated stablecoin liquidity is.
